Physical examination has been replaced by the periodic health examination. How often this I done depends on the patient'sage, sex, and risk factors for disease. The United States             Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) has developed guidelines preventative health examinations that health care professionals widely follow. Organizations that promote        detection and prevention ofspecific diseases, like the American Cancer Society, generally        recommend more intensive or frequent examinations.

If patient is prone to allergy we can’t treat the patient with penicillin directly, we should do the skin test before but we have the medical history of the patient which reported the penicillin allergy to the concerned case we will change the medication accordingly. After checking the medical history what-ever we make for treatment; this will become the part of medical record.Physical Examination mainly includes laboratory tests, ECG, EEG, chest X-rays, pulmonary function testing, urine analysis and blood analysis etc. physical examination may be routine tests which are being done on daily basis or weekly basis like blood sugar tests and blood pressure tests, on contrary there are physical tests that are annually or they are being done on special prescription of physician. These types of tests include electro cardio gram, CT scan etc.
A physical examination usually includes the following things:
• Inspection (looking at the body
• Percussion (producing sounds, usually by tapping on specific areas of the body)
• Auscultation (listening to sounds)
• Palpation (feeling the body with fingers or hands)
Physical examination generally aiding in identifying the disorder but it cannot tell exactly about the disorder so, we need to go for specific tests for disease according to physical examination sign.
