Sensor is a device that detects and responds to some type of input from the physical environment. The specific input could be light, heat, motion, moisture, pressure, or any one of a great number of other environmental phenomena. The output is generally a signal that is converted to human-readable display at the sensor location or transmitted electronically over a network for reading or further processing.
OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conferences organize worldwide.
Scope and Importance:
Sensor Scope is such an environmental monitoring system based on a time driven WSN, developed in collaboration between two laboratories at EPFL: LCAV (signal processing and networking) and EFLUM (hydrology and environmental fluid mechanics). Our aim is to help environmental engineers to address long term monitoring questions in challenging environments. Our stations regularly transmit data (e.g., wind speed and direction) to a sink, which in turn uses a gateway to relay the data to our server. Depending on the deployment scenario and the available communication resources, we use different kinds of gateways (e.g., GPRS, Ethernet). Data is published on our real-time Google Maps–based Web interface2 and on Microsoft’s Sensor Map Website.3 Figure 2 illustrates this architecture. Because our objective is to replace the aforementioned traditional expensive stations, the baseline requirements that we have followed are low cost and full autonomy, while maintaining sufficient accuracy. In this section, we describe the design of our hardware and software architecture to address these requirements.
Sensors conference aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of:
Sensor and platforms
It also provides the platform for researchers, scholars and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in the field of Sensors.
The global market for sensors by type reached $68.2 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach $79.5 billion in 2014. The market is expected to rise at a CAGR of 7.9% and reach $116.1 billion by 2019. Explanations of the role of sensors in various applications, the technology and innovation behind sensor development and production, and major market trends both in terms of region and application sector over conventional sensors, such as pressure, temperature, level, flow and position sensors, and does not cover unconventional types of sensors such as pointing sensors (e.g., touch screens and touch-pads, barcode readers and RFID readers for identification purposes, remote-readout and intelligent power meters, gas and water meters, as well as remote-readout heat meters).
