As per available reports about 2 conferences are presently dedicated exclusively to pink eye medicine.
Pink eye (also called conjunctivitis) is redness and swelling of the conjunctiva, the mucous membrane that lines the eyelid and eye surface. The lining of the eye is usually clear. If irritation or infection occurs, the lining becomes red and swollen. It usually is not serious and goes away in 7 to 10 days without medical treatment. Viral pinkeye is often caused by an adenovirus, which is a common respiratory virus that can also cause a sore throat or upper respiratory infection. The herpes virus can also cause viral pinkeye.
Most cases of pinkeye are caused by:
• Infections caused by viruses or bacteria
• Dry eyes from lack of tears or exposure to wind and sun
• Chemicals, fumes, or smoke (chemical conjunctivitis)
Viral and bacterial pinkeye are contagious ophthalmological diseases and spread very easily. Since most pinkeye is caused by viruses for which there is usually no medical treatment, preventing its spread is important. Poor hand-washing is the main cause of the spread of pinkeye. Sharing an object, such as a washcloth or towel, with a person who has pinkeye can spread the infection.

Scope and Importance
Pink Eye Medicine Conference provides the opportunities to learn from international scientists and academicians. Pink eye is also called as Conjunctivitis the disease related to the eye which is caused due to inflammation of the conjunctiva, the thin, transparent layer covering the surface of the inner eyelid and a portion of the front of the eye, the science which deals with the eye diseases and disorders is Ophthalmology. Conference offers excessive quality content to suit the diverse professional development of these medicines to treat people all over the globe. It is a perfect platform to discuss the current discoveries and developments in the field of Ophthalmology.
Diagnosis of Pink Eye
To diagnose pink eye (conjunctivitis), your doctor will look for the usual symptoms, such as burning, itchy eyes that discharge a thick, sticky mucus and tearing. Your doctor may take a swab of the discharge from your eye to send to the lab to determine the cause. Home treatment for pinkeye will help reduce your pain and keep your eye free of drainage. Cold compresses or warm compresses (whichever feels best) can be used. If an allergy is the problem, a cool compress may feel better. If the pink eye is caused by an infection, then a warm, moist compress may soothe your eye and help reduce redness and swelling. Warm, moist compresses can spread infection from one eye to the other. Use a different compress for each eye, and use a clean compress for each application. When cleaning your eye, wipe from the inside (next to the nose) toward the outside. Use a clean surface for each wipe so that drainage being cleaned away is not rubbed back across the eye. If tissues or wipes are used, make sure they are put in the trash and are not allowed to sit around. If washcloths are used to clean the eye, put them in the laundry right away so that no one else picks them up or uses them. After wiping your eye, wash your hands to prevent the pinkeye from spreading.
Conjunctivitis is an extremely common condition with high incidence and low prevalence. The disease can be treated on its own. Hence, exact estimate of epidemlology of this disease is a challenge. However, as per the statistics published by government authority in the U.S approximately 5 million cases of bacterial conjunctivitis are reported due to increasing number of bacterial infections. Moreover, the treatment of disease in the U.S. accounts for approximately USD 589 million annually. It has also been witnessed that out of all the causes of conjunctivitis, bacterial conjunctivitis account for more than 50% of the cases. Thus, rising incidences of bacterial infection would drive the growth of this market.
