Recommended Conferences for Acute Coronary Syndrome

Acute Coronary Syndrome

Acute Coronary syndrome:

As per available reports about 25 Open Access Journals, 37 Conference , 3 National symposiums to Coronary artery disease published on Acute Coronary syndrome.

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) refers to a group of conditions due to decreased blood flow in the coronary arteries such that part of the heart muscle is unable to function properly or dies. The location of the blockage, the length of time that blood flow is blocked, and the amount of damage that occurs determine the type of acute coronary syndrome. Chest pain or discomfort may immediately signal to you that something’s wrong with your heart. Other symptoms, however, may leave you unsure of what’s wrong. Chest pain or discomfort, which may involve pressure, tightness or fullness, Pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the jaw, neck, back or stomach, Shortness of breath, Feeling dizzy or lightheaded, Nausea, Sweating. The term acute coronary syndrome (ACS) covers a range of disorders including myocardial infarction (heart attack) and unstable angina that are caused by the same underlying problem.

The term acute coronary syndrome (ACS) covers a range of disorders including myocardial infarction (heart attack) and unstable angina that are caused by the same underlying problem. The underlying problem is a sudden reduction of blood flow to part of the heart muscle. This is usually caused by a blood clot that forms on a patch of atheroma within a coronary artery The types of problems range from unstable angina - when the blood clot causes a reduced blood flow, but not a total blockage so the heart muscle supplied by the affected artery does not infarct (die) - to an actual myocardial Infraction.

Treatment for acute coronary syndrome includes medicines and a procedure known as angioplasty, during which doctors inflate a small balloon to open the artery. A stent, a wire mesh tube, may be permanently placed in the artery to keep it open.A blood test can show evidence that heart cells are dying. An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) can diagnose an acute coronary syndrome by measuring the heart’s electrical activity.Non-modifiable risk factors for atherosclerosis: increasing age, male, family history of premature coronary heart disease, premature menopause.Modifiable risk factors for atherosclerosis: smoking, diabetes mellitus (and impaired glucose tolerance), hypertension, dyslipidaemia (raised low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, reduced high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol), obesity, physical inactivity.Consider nonatherosclerotic causes in younger patients or if there is no evidence of atherosclerosis: coronary emboli from sources such as an infected cardiac valve, coronary occlusion secondary to vasculitis, coronary artery spasm, cocaine use, congenital coronary anomalies, coronary trauma, increased oxygen requirement (eg, hyperthyroidism) or decreased oxygen delivery (eg, severe anaemia).

Scope and Importance:

MarketOptimizer.org adds "Acute Coronary Syndrome - US Drug Forecast and Market Analysis to 2023", a new research report to its store. Overview of ACS, including epidemiology, etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, pathology and treatment guidelines as well as an overview on the competitive landscape.

Market analysis:

The Acute Coronary Syndrome - US Drug Forecast and Market Analysis to 2023 report estimates that the total market size for the 7MM in 2013 was $12.3bn, comprised of $5.0bn in branded drug sales (40%) and $7.3bn in generic sales (60%). It expects that the ACS drug market will grow at a CAGR of 13.4% over the ten year forecast period, resulting in a market value of $43.4bn by 2023, of which 64% will be attributed to branded drug sales ($27.7bn) and 36% to generic drug sales ($15.7bn). The current Acute Coronary Syndrome market - primarily comprised of antithrombotics, antihypertensives, and statins - is flush with well-established standard-of-care therapies, many of which are generic. Therefore, the pipeline therapies that show the most promise exploit novel mechanisms of action and target orphan biochemical pathways.
