Human genetic disorders  are caused by mutations in one or more genes. Genetic disorder is an abnormal condition that a person inherits through genes or chromosomes. Some are caused by mutations in the DNA of genes others are caused by changes in the overall structure or number of chromosomes.

Human genetic disorder is an illness caused by one or more abnormalities in the genome, especially a condition that is present from birth. Whether, when and to what extent a person with the genetic defect or abnormality will actually suffer from the disease is almost always affected by environmental factors and events in the person's development.
