Cancer chemoprevention is the use of natural, synthetic (made in a laboratory), or biologic (from a living source) substances to reverse, suppress, or prevent the development of cancer. Cancer is a disease in which cells become abnormal, invade healthy tissue, and grow uncontrollably.
