Recommended Conferences for Molecular Pharming

Molecular Pharming

As per available reports about 25 Open Access Journals, 20 Conferences, 50 open access articles are presently dedicated exclusively Molecular Pharming and about 202 conference proceedings are being published on Molecular Pharming.

Molecular Pharming represents an unprecedented opportunity to manufacture affordable modern medicines and make these available at a global scale. The area of greatest potential is in the prevention of infectious diseases, particular in underdeveloped countries where access to medicines and vaccines has historically been limited. This is why, at St. George's, we focus on diseases such as HIV, TB and rabies, and aim to develop production strategies that are simple and potentially easy to transfer to developing countries. This places us in a unique position to perform highly translational research in collaboration with colleagues at the cutting edge of medical research. It has driven a research strategy in which plant biotechnology is a tool and not a research topic per se. Thus the research group is composed of scientists from a range of disciplines, with an emphasis on immunology and vaccinology.

OMICS International:
OMICS International is an Open Access Publications group which organizes International scientific conferences worldwide. This can be achieved through the support of 700 Open Access Journals, 50000 Editorial team, 1000 more scientific societies 21 Days rapid review process with valuable 3.5 Million readers conducting 300 scientific conferences per year.
In this way OMICS International Conferences are engraved to the marks of success in open access publishing & also in organizing scientific events. The OMICS International event participants are typically high-level decision makers representing various parts of the industry and many participants are repeaters who know each other.
Conferences and Symposiums of OMICS International enlightens your research path by gathering scientific professionals from across the globe to discuss the recent scientific discoveries done followed by the interactive sessions through B2B meetings and scientific partnering. The importance and significance of OMICS International Conferences can be gauged by the fact that it has made huge advancements over the course of time and is continuing to influence various sectors.

While molecular farming is one application of genetic engineering, there are concerns that are unique to it. In the case of genetically modified (GM) foods, concerns focus on the safety of the food for human consumption. In response, it has been argued that the genes that enhance a crop in some way, such as drought resistance or pesticide resistance, are not believed to affect the food itself. Other GM foods in development, such as fruits designed to ripen faster or grow larger, are believed not to affect humans any differently from non-GM varieties.
In contrast, molecular farming is not intended for crops destined for the food chain. It produces plants that contain physiologically active compounds that accumulate in the plant’s tissues. Considerable attention is focused, therefore, on the restraint and caution necessary to protect both consumer health and environmental biodiversity.
Plant molecular farming is currently being pursued to address either the increased demand for proteins that cannot be produced in sufficient quantities in either microbial or animal cell cultures, or as a means to produce proteins that cannot be expressed in microbial or animal cell cultures.
With respect to increased demands for products currently produced by transgenic microbes or animal cell culture, the arthritis medication Enbrel of Amgen is a best example. This drug, a genetic copy of anti-inflammatory proteins, is currently being manufactured in bioreactors containing transgenic hamster cells. Increased pharmaceutical demands, as well as advances in gene identification following the completion of the Human Genome Project, have led to an interest in plants as expression systems for therapeutic products. Despite numerous benefits to this approach, however, the concerns that have been raised must be adequately addressed. Although molecular farming offers an exciting alternative for pharmaceutical production, industry and government must proceed cautiously in this area in order to gain public acceptance.
