Recommended Conferences for BCG vaccine

BCG vaccine

Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) Vaccine
Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) Vaccine also called as Bacille de Calmette et Guérin or BCG, provides immunity or protection against tuberculosis (TB). The vaccine may be given to persons at high risk of developing tuberculosis (TB) disease. It is also used to treat bladder tumors or bladder cancer. Using BCG medicine, firstly the risks of taking the medicine must be weighed. This is a decision you and your doctor will make. For bacillus of calmette and guerin vaccine the following should be considered like Allergies, Pediatric, Geriatric, Pregnancy, Breast Feeding and Interactions with Food/Tobacco/Alcohol For a variable number of years after BCG vaccination, many people show a local skin reaction to the purified protein derived skin test (also called tuberculin skin test). Further testing for tuberculosis is often required in individuals given BCG vaccination in order to distinguish between a false-positive test result, in which an individual is not infected with tuberculosis, and a positive test result, in which an individual is infected with tuberculosis. Biological response modifiers are substances that have no direct antitumor effect but are able to trigger the immune system to indirectly affect tumors. BCG is thought to bring about an immune response in the bladder by triggering an inflammatory reaction in the bladder. This reaction brings disease-fighting white blood cells and cytokines to the bladder. The immune system cells then fight directly against the tumor cells. The cytokine response changes the environment in the bladder that may inhibit future tumor growth and progression. more
BCG symptoms of active TB are
•Weight loss
•Fever and night sweats
•Cough
•chest pains
•Weakness
