There are many recognized neurological disorders, some relatively common, but many rare. It was found that 6.75% of the American adult population is afflicted with Neurological disorders. This number was eclipsed by the 8.02% of Floridians with Neurological disorders, which is due to the large aged population residing in the state. Neurological disorders are an important cause of mortality and constitute 12% of total deaths globally.Neurological disorders are diseases of the brain, spine and the nerves that connect them. Structural, biochemical or electrical abnormalities in the brain, spinal cord or other nerves can result in a range of symptoms which includes paralysis, muscle weakness, poor coordination, and loss of sensation, seizures, confusion, pain and altered levels of consciousness. Within these, cerebrovascular diseases are responsible for 85% of the deaths due to neurological disorders. Neurological disorders constitute 16.8% of the total deaths in lower middle income countries compared with 13.2% of the total deaths in high income countries Among the neurological disorders, Alzheimer and other dementias are estimated to constitute 2.84% of the total deaths in high income countries in 2005. Cerebrovascular disease constitute 15.8%, 9.6%, 9.5% and 6.4% of the total deaths in lower middle, upper middle, high and low income countries

Market analysis:

Up to 1 billion people, nearly one in six of the world’s population, suffer from neurological disorders, from Alzheimer and Parkinson disease, strokes, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy to migraine, brain injuries and neuro-infections, with some 6.8 each year. People in all countries, irrespective of age, sex, education or income are affected, that the economic cost of such diseases in Europe reached some €169 billion in 2013, and that access to appropriate care is lacking in many parts of the world. Health systems need to be strengthened to deliver better care for people with neurological disorders,” she added, recommending that neurological care be integrated into primary health care since for many people, primary care is the only access to medical treatment that they have and doctors can use low-technology interventions. Community-based rehabilitation is also an option. Global statistics show that 50 million people suffer from epilepsy, 62 million from cerebrovascular disease, 326 million from migraine, and 24 million from Alzheimer disease and other dementias.

Neurology is the branch of medicine that is concerned with the study and treatment of disorders of the nervous system. It comes under medical science addressing disorders of the nervous system. To be specific, neurology deals with the diagnosing and treatment of all classes of conditions and wellness involving the central and peripheral nervous system; or, the equivalent that means, the involuntary nervous systems and also the bodily nervous systems, together with their coverings, blood vessels, and every one effector tissue, like muscle.

Neurologists treat disorders of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. A medical specialist could be a doctor specializing in neurology and trained to research, or diagnose and treat medicine disorders. Neurologists can also be concerned in clinical analysis, and clinical trials, similarly as basic analysis and translational analysis. Whereas neurology could be a non-surgical specialty, its corresponding surgical specialty is surgical procedure. Neurology, being a branch of drugs, differs from neurobiology that is that the scientific study of the system all told of its aspects. A doctor who specializes in neurology is called a neurologist.
