Tower of London is a historic fort on the north bank of the River Thames in central London, England. It lies surrounded by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, split from the eastern edge of the square mile of the City of London by the unwrap space known as Tower Hill. It was founded near the end of 1066 as part of the Norman invasion of England. A grand palace early in its history, it served as a royal residence. As a whole, the Tower is a complex of a number of buildings set within two concentric rings of defensive walls and a moat. There were several phases of development, mainly under Kings Richard the Lionheart, Henry III, and Edward I in the 12th and 13th centuries. The British Museum is a museum in London devoted to human history and culture. Its permanent collection, numbering a few 8 million works, is among the major and most comprehensive in way of life and originates from all continents, illustrate and documenting the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present. The British Museum was established in 1753, mainly based on the collection of the physician and scientist Sir Hans Sloane. The museum first opened to the public on 15th January 1759 in Montagu House in Bloomsbury, on the site of the existing museum building. Its development over the following two and a half centuries was mostly a result of an expanding British colonial footprint and has resulted in the formation of several branch institutions, the first being the British Museum (Natural History) in South Kensington in 1887.

The major research in London for diverse fields are biotechnology, biological science research, research in environment, fisheries and aquaculture Science.
