Geographically located in the western part of Austria, Innsbruck is the capital city of Tyrol state. Innsbruck has got a pleasant atmosphere throughout the year. The area is surrounded by the Alps. The Stubai Alps mountain range covers up the southwest part, Tux Alps in the southeast and the Karwendel and Wetterstein Mountains take over the Northern part. Innsbruck has a moderate climate with distinctive seasons. Winter is cold with freezing nights and heavy snowfall. The climate changes completed in spring, with a lot of sunlight and longer days. Summer is hot with mild nights. Rainfall is average and is normally observed from June till September.
Innsbruck is the address of the old grammar school the "Akademisches Gymnasium Innsbruck". Innsbruck hosts some universities. The most familiar are the University of Innsbruck, the Innsbruck Medical University and the University of Applied Sciences MCI Management Center Innsbruck.
