Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and the nation's second biggest city. Hanoi was the most political focus of Vietnam. The city lies on the right bank of the Red River. Hanoi, as the capital of French Indochina, was home to the first Western-style colleges in Indochina, incorporating: Indochina Medical College (1902) - now Hanoi Medical University, Indochina University (1904) - now Hanoi National University, and École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de L'indochine (1925) - now Hanoi University of Fine Art. After the Communist Party took control over Hanoi in 1954 with backing from the Soviet Union, numerous new colleges were constructed, around them, Hanoi University of Technology remains the biggest specialized college in Vietnam. Hanoi is the biggest focus of training in Vietnam. It is evaluated that 62% of the researchers in the entire nation are existing and working in Hanoi.[12] Admissions to undergrad study are through passage examinations, which are led yearly and open for every living soul (who has solidly finished his/her auxiliary instruction) in the nation.
