Welcome to Conferences
Cancun, in the state of Quintana Roo, was previously a long strip of forest flanked by beaches. Cancun's history as a resort area dates back only to 1970, when the Mexican government chose the spot for development as a tourist destination; thanks to the area's great weather, beautiful beaches, clear waters, and nearby coral reef. Cancun is now the biggest resort area in the country, with a population near 5, 00 000, but receiving over 3 million visitors. Cancun is divided into three distinct areas.
"Ciudad Cancun" (Cancun City), a somewhat typical Mexican town on the mainland where most Cancun residents make their home, which contrasts strikingly with the impressive hotel zone, "Isla Cancun" (Cancun Island), known more commonly as the Hotel Zone. There is also an ecological reserve with mangroves and lagoons. Cancun is one of the most visited places in the world and has become famous for its natural beauty, archaeological sites, and picture-perfect beaches bathed by the crystal-clear turquoise blue water of the Caribbean. Besides, Cancun is one of Mexico's safest tourism destinations and its position on the world market. A modern and multifunctional Congress and Convention Center provided with cutting-edge technology.
Testimonials
I was very impressed by the international scope of participants at the Chicago meeting and the quality of work presented. It speaks very highly of the organizers of this meeting as it is no small task to get medical researchers from around the world to gather at a single site for an exchange of ideas. The accommodations were wonderful and the noontime luncheons delicious. Congratulations on an exceptional conference.

The ConferenceSeries meeting “Translational Medicine 2014” has been a very great meeting providing a comprehensive view on ongoing international clinical developments and gave me the option to make a lot of novel contacts to start collaborative research with people from all over the world. Discussion directly with almost all peoples in a familial atmosphere is very fruitful as well as the venue, time frame and organization has been very convenient

The recent Stem Cell Congress in Chicago, from the scientific standpoint, the highest quality and most useful of the three ConferenceSeries-sponsored conferences that I have attended. The presentations I heard were uniformly good. I’d be pleased to see such meetings have a larger audience

International conference is a gathering of people with a common interest or background, with the purposes of allowing them to meet one another and to learn about and discuss issues, ideas and work that focus on a topic of mutual concern. Conferences may be held in places other than the workplaces and neighbourhoods of their participants, so that the people attending can focus on the topic at hand without distractions. Some conferences are even held in another area of the country or the world. There are a number of reasons you might organize a conference, some practical, some idealistic, some political, and some with elements of all three.
There are probably as many answers to this question as there are workshops and workshop presenters but, in general, a workshop is a single, short (although short may mean anything from 45 minutes to two full days) educational program designed to teach or introduce to participants practical skills, techniques, or ideas which they can then use in their work or their daily lives. Most workshops have several features in common: They're generally small, usually from 6 to 15 participants, allowing everyone some personal attention and the chance to be heard. They're often designed for people who are working together, or working in the same field. They’re conducted by people who have real experience in the subject under discussion.
A conference is a meeting of people who "confer" about a topic and theme. We mainly concerned about academic conference. Conferences are usually composed of various presentations, which tend to be short and concise, with a time span of about 10 to 30 minutes; presentations are usually followed by a discussion. The work may be bundled in written form as academic papers and published as the conference proceedings. Usually a conference will include keynote speakers. The keynote lecture is often longer, lasting sometimes up to an hour and a half, particularly if there are several keynote speakers on a panel.
In addition to presentations, conferences also feature panel discussions, round table discussions on various issues and workshops. Prospective presenters are usually asked to submit a short abstract of their presentation, which will be reviewed before the presentation is accepted for the meeting. Some disciplines require presenters to submit a paper of about 6–15 pages, which is peer reviewed by members of the program committee or referees chosen by them. In some disciplines, such as English and other languages, it is common for presenters to read from a prepared script. In other disciplines such as the sciences, presenters usually base their talk around a visual presentation that displays key figures and research results. A large meeting will usually be called a conference, while a smaller is termed a workshop. There might be single track or multiple tracks, where the former has only one session at a time, while a multiple track meeting has several parallel sessions with speakers in separate rooms speaking at the same time. At some conferences, social or entertainment activities such as tours and receptions can be part of the program. Business meetings for learned societies or interest groups can also be part of the conference activities.
An academic conference or symposium is a conference for researchers to present and discuss their work. Together with academic or scientific journals, conferences provide an important channel for exchange of information between researchers. Mostly symposium time duration is less than typical conference.
Workshop may be a room or building which provides both the area and tools (or machinery) that may be required for the manufacture or repair of manufactured goods. In scientific workshops, any representative of company can describe his or her product to the people.
B2B Meetings are a quick and easy way to meet potential cooperation partners. People meet and greet at high speed and they share knowledge by each other on the current industry basis. 20 minutes are usually enough to build connections, then the bell rings and the next talk starts.
Cancun: Before its development, Cancun Island was a barrier island, 17 km long and 100-400 m wide. It faces the Caribbean Sea and encloses a shallow lagoon and is an important nesting site for seabirds and sea turtles. There are several openings to the mangrove lined lagoon in which there is a variety of marine life. Added to the ecological impacts is the demographic impact resulting from thousands of unskilled workers moving into the area and living in neighborhood with no running water or sewer services, where disease is a constant problem. Many of these workers, having few skills, turn to crime to survive, resulting in a frightening clash of cultures. Most of you already know the Yucatan Peninsula is a platform of calcium carbonate, ranging in age from Eocene sediments to Recent, all deposited under warm shallow marine seas with alternating periods of erosion and deposition during the glacial periods, when sea levels rose and fell. These marine sediments have been drilled by PEMEX, the national oil company, to depths of 7,000 meters. Annual rainfall is about 100 centimeters per year – the dry season runs from November to May while most of the rain falls from June to October. Temperatures are tropical to sub-tropical. Added to the ecological impacts of this development project there has been a demographic impact which, while hidden from the tourists, is no less real in its impact on society. Cancun has reached nearly to the point of Phase III of this theory. A recent survey revealed that only 20% of the visitors intend to return. This means constant and costly promotion to maintain the flow of tourists. It may be too late for Cancun, but there may be some here in this room who can influence tourist development in their country, and the Cancun experience should be examined closely in order to avoid the pitfalls which are so evident there.
