    Biography :
    Robert H. Ossoff is Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Compliance and Corporate Integrity at Vanderbilt Medical Canter (VMC). He also serves as the Executive Medical Director of the Vanderbilt Voice Canter and Maness Professor of Laryngology and Voice. He served as the first Maness Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology for 22 years. Since establishing the Vanderbilt Voice Canter in 1991 and the first modern advanced training program in laryngology and voice care, 39 fellows have been trained. Dr. Ossoff was also the founding director of the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Canter for Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences. Dr. Ossoff, a former director, is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABOto). He is a member of numerous Otolaryngology societies where he serves as past president of several. He is currently the President of the Trio logical Society. Dr. Ossoff has received numerous awards from Otolaryngology professional societies. He completed the requirements to become certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Compliance Certification Board. Dr. Ossoff has been invited as a lecturer numerous times at local, regional, and national Otolaryngological and compliance meetings. Dr. Ossoff serves on the editorial and advisory board for several Otolaryngology professional and compliance journals, including the Archives of Otolaryngology – HNS and the Journal of Health Care.     Biography :
    Dr. Quintin Pan completed his PhD in pharmacology at the University of Michigan Medical School in 1999. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in translational oncology and subsequently joined the faculty as Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School and the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer to direct a laboratory in translational cancer research. In 2008, Dr. Pan was recruited to the Ohio State University Medical Center and the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center as Associate Professor and Research Director of the Head and Neck Oncology Program.     Biography :
    Charles Bishop is Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine and a Clinical Audiologist in the Department of Otolaryngology and Communicative Sciences at the University of Mississippi Medical Canter, Jackson, MS. He received his Au.D, Doctor of Audiology, from the George S. Osborne College of Audiology, Salus University, Elkins Park, PA in 2004-2006. He received his M.A., Master of Arts in Audiology, from the University of North Texas, Denton, TX in 1998-2001. His B.A., Bachelor of Arts, is from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, MS, which he completed in 1994-1997. He is a co-investigator on an NIH funded hearing study, investigating the relationship of peripheral and central auditory dysfunction with specific cardio-metabolic risk factors.     Biography :
    Dr. John MaddalozzoI was born in Chicago. He entered at Loyola University in Chicago where he majored in Biology and graduated from college in 1978. He pursue a career in surgical subspecialty and general surgical training at the University of Southern California from 1981 to 1982 in St. Joseph Hospital, which was affiliated with Northwestern University. He was accepted to the residency program at North-western University in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, which extended from 1984 to 1988. He was involved in the education and training of residents in pediatrics at both Columbus and St. Joseph Hospitals, as well as residents enrolled in the family practice program at Children\'s Memorial Hospital. Since his tenure at Children\'s Memorial Hospital, he have been involved in the education and training of more than 100 otolaryngology residents, who were from every university within the Chicago metropolitan area.     Biography :
    Dr. Ivan H. El-Sayed is a head and neck surgeon who specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant lesions of the head and neck, paranasal sinuses and skull base. His clinical research interests include examining the utility of sentinel node biopsy for cancer of the head and neck. He also is investigating potential diagnostic and therapeutic use of lasers and nanoparticles in the management of cancer. El-Sayed earned a medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and completed a residency in otolaryngology there. He completed a fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco in head and neck oncology. El-Sayed is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a clinical instructor in otolaryngology at the UCSF School of Medicine.     BIOGRAPHY

    Biography :
    Dr. Steven J. Wang is a head and neck surgeon specializing in the treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the head and neck. Wang treats tumours of the oral cavity, larynx or voice box, thyroid and salivary glands as well as skin cancers including melanoma and non-melanoma cancer. He also has expertise in head and neck micro vascular reconstructive surgery. Wang conducts research on chemotherapy resistance in head and neck cancer and studies the impact of head and neck cancer treatment on quality of life. Wang completed undergraduate studies at Harvard College and earned a medical degree at Harvard Medical School. After finishing an otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at UCLA, he completed a two-year fellowship in head and neck oncology and micro vascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan. Wang is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and a member of the American Head and Neck Society and American Association for Cancer Research.     Biography :
    Mark Agulnik, MD, is Assistant Professor of medicine in the Division of Haematology and Oncology at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Dr. Agulnik earned his medical degree at McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada. After graduating, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His fellowship in haematology and oncology was conducted at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He subsequently completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at The University of Toronto’s Princess Margaret Hospital with a focus on Head and Neck Cancer. Currently, Dr. Agulnik serves as Director of the Head and Neck and Sarcoma programs at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Centre of Northwestern University. He also serves as the Fellowship Program Director for the Department of Haematology and Oncology. Dr. Agulnik is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, as well as the Connective Tissue Oncology Society. His research interests early drug development for both Head and Neck Cancers and Sarcomas. Dr. Agulnik is a panel member on both the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Bone Cancer Panel and Occult Primary Panel. He is a member of the National Cancer Institute Rare Tumors Task Force of the Head and Neck Cancer Steering Committee and an ECOG Head and Neck Cancer Committee Member.     BIOGRAPHY

    Biography :
    Dr. Shi joined the Oregon Hearing Research Center at Oregon Health & Science University in 1999, and is currently Associate Professor of Otolaryngology. Dr. Shi has a joint appointment at Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, as Professor in the Institute of Hearing Research, Shanghai and is Vice Director of the Institute of Microcirculation, CAMS & PUMC, and Beijing. She earned her Ph.D. at Henan Medical University and PLA Hospital, Beijing in 1997 after completing her master’s work at Shanghai Second Medical University. In 1999 she began her postdoctoral training in auditory physiology, specializing in cochlear blood flow, at the Oregon Hearing Research Center.    BIOGRAPHY
    Research Interest :
    Disturbances in cochlear blood flow contribute to many clinical hearing conditions. Dr. Shi’s laboratory has three primary areas of research: (1) Physiology of inner ear blood flow, (2) Molecular mechanisms underlying noise-induced hearing loss, and (3) Clinical & translational research. Noise-induced hearing loss, with accompanying tinnitus and sound hypersensitivity, is a common condition which leads to communication problems and social isolation. The goal of the laboratory is to understand the molecular mechanisms well enough to mitigate the damage from exposure to loud sound. Free radicals and inflammatory cytokines are the proximate cause, and antioxidants and anti-inflammatory drugs have been shown to be effective in protecting the inner ear. Her laboratory has established a number of international collaborations for further clinical study including various antioxidants.     RESEARCH INTEREST
