Omics Studies-2013 Report

On September 04-05, 2013, OMICS Group Conferences organized its “International Conference on Omics Studies" held at Holiday Inn, Orlando FL, USA. This conference was OMICS endeavour to strengthen the future of the Omics science together with research scholars, health care professionals, university professors, industrialists, Omics associations, editorial board members of OMICS journals, and students globally from leading universities.

The Honourable guests & Keynote speakers for the conference were:

William C. Reinhold, Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, USA

Norberto Peporine Lopes, University of São Paulo, Brazil

Day-1 started with an opening ceremony, speech by honourable guests & keynote forum followed by invited lectures by honourable moderator chair & co-chair of each session. All the other sessions highlighted the current challenges, issues, opportunities, innovations and ideas in Omics research that was reflected by the theme of the conference “Re-integrating the Omics Fields to Accelerate Precision Research". The theme touched upon various topics like

  • Genomics
  • Transcriptomics and Gene prediction
  • Proteomics and Glycomics
  • Canceromics
  • Metabolomics  and  Metabonomics
  • Computational Biology and Bioinformatics
  • Sequencing and Alignment
  • Bioinformatics in Biopharmaceuticals & Medicine

Dr. Jimmy Efird, Brody School of Medicine, USA and Dr. Agnieszka Adamczyk, Maria Skłodowska-Curie Memorial Institute, Poland chaired the conference and the presentations were delivered on the ongoing research topics of Omics Studies.

The highlights of the meeting were the eponymous lectures, delivered by Dr. William C. Reinhold from Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, USA. His talk highlighted the application of Cell Miner web-application and NCI 60 cancerous cell lines in pharmacology. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry in plant Metabonomics was discussed by Dr. Norberto Peporine Lopes.

The conference provided a great opportunity for the participants to share the knowledge about their individual research areas, the research problems and the advanced methods to make it easier for the research.
OMICS Group is thankful to all the Organizing Committee Members, conference chairs, honourable guests, students & delegates for their presence and valuable discussions.

Thank you everyone for the enormous intense response. This inspires us to continue organizing events and conferences for furthering the Omics Studies research.
