Library science is nothing but the studies related to libraries. Library science or Library studies is an interdisciplinary field that focus on the practices, perspectives and tools of management, information technology, education and other areas to libraries. There are mainly 5 types of library such as, Public Library, media Specialist, Archives, Special Library, and Preservation. Being interdisciplinary subject, it sometimes overlaps with computer science, various social sciences, statistics, and system analysis. The main branches of library science are Preservation, bibliographic database, cataloging, Library instruction, Archival Science, Reference, Reader’s advisory. Library science professional s can be named as Librarian in which application specialist, collection librarian, teacher librarian etc, Archivist, Curator, Indexer, Information architect, Information broker, Prospect researchers, Records manager.The Five laws of library science is a theory proposed by S. R. Ranganathan in 1931, detailing the principles of operating a library system. Many librarians worldwide accept them as the foundations of their philosophy. These laws are: (1)Books are for use. (2)Every reader his [or her] book. (3)Every book has its reader. (4)Save the time of the reader. (5)The library is a growing organism.
