Wireless Modeling is a critical part of the wireless network research. Predictions of ionospheric propagation are typically very costly in both time and memory. A fast 11F link quality simulation algorithm is proposed based on a combination of the measured data and classic MUF-LIF prediction algorithm in HF networks and a novel radio node is designed in OPNET to simulate the physical layer of a HF bank/ship network using the proposed algorithm. The designed radio node can entirely perform the functions of OPNET Radio Transceiver Pipeline. By comparing the channel occupation rate, it is possible to select the most efficient and suitable HF networking scheme.

 

Wireless Modeling is the transfer of information between two or more points that are not connected by an electrical conductor. The most common wireless technologies use radio. With radio waves distances can be short, such as a few meters for television or as far as thousands or even millions of kilometers for deep-space radio communications. It encompasses various types of fixed, mobile, and portable applications, including two-way radios, cellular telephones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and wireless networking. Other examples of applications of radio wireless technology include GPS units, garage door openers, wireless computer mice, keyboards and headsets, headphones, radio receivers, satellite television, broadcast television and cordless telephones.
