Pulmonary Hypertension

Pulmonary hypertension As per available reports about 22 relevant Journals, 40 Conferences, 12 National symposiums are presently dedicated exclusively to pediatric hypertension and about 2070 articles are being published on Pediatric hypertension.

Pulmonary hypertension (or PHT) is high blood pressure that occurs in the arteries in the lungs. It is a different measurement altogether from systemic blood pressure. It reflects the pressure the heart must exert to pump blood from the heart through the arteries of the lungs. Symptoms of PH includes:

  • Shortness of breath during routine activity, such as climbing two flights of stairs
  • Tiredness
  • Chest pain
  • A racing heartbeat
  • Pain on the upper right side of the abdomen
  • Decreased appetite

OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conference organize worldwide.

Scope and importance:

The prevalence of hypertension in children and adolescents in the United States has been reported at 1% to 5%. Primary hypertension in children and adolescents is associated with several risk factors, the strongest of which is elevated body mass index. The prevalence of hypertension in children and adolescents has increased over the past several decades, which is probably attributable to the increase in the prevalence of childhood overweight and obesity. The prevalence of hypertension among obese children in the United States is estimated at 11%.

One rationale for screening for hypertension in children and adolescents is that early identification of primary hypertension could lead to interventions to reduce blood pressure during childhood and adolescence, resulting in a reduced risk for cardiovascular events and death in adulthood.

Pulmonary hypertension will be the best platform for all the specialists and super specialists, renowned Scientists, research scholars, students who are working in this field across the globe under a single roof to exchange their knowledge related to pulmonary hypertension. This international event is an effort to find an alternative for invasive imaging technique against diseases like Asbestosis disease , Lung cancer, Pandemic Flu, Pulmonary Embolism and Respiratory Syncytial Virus etc.

Market Analysis:
According to a new market report published by Transparency Market Research “Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) Market - Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends and Forecast 2014 - 2020,” the global PAH market was valued at USD 4.04 billion in 2013 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 2.3% from 2014 to 2020, to reach an estimated value of USD 5.19 billion in 2020.

Pulmonary hypertension is a clinical syndrome where the blood flow that leaves the right side of the heart faces an increased resistance (pressure). Normally blood flows from the right ventricle into the pulmonary arteries and then flows into smaller and smaller blood vessels until it reaches the capillaries (thin walled blood vessels near the small air chambers of the lungs or alveoli). There gas exchange occurs where oxygen is picked up and carbon dioxide is released. The blood vessels have muscles in their walls that can regulate their diameter and thereby allow more or less blood flow to enter the capillaries. In pulmonary hypertension, the blood vessels of the lungs have an increased amount of muscle in the walls. This causes a higher resistance in the lungs. The right ventricle then has to work harder to pump blood out to the lungs. The right ventricle will enlarge and thicken in response to this extra work. With time, the extra work placed on the right side of the heart can cause it to fail. True pulmonary arteriolar hypertension as a result of some, but not all, forms of congenital heart disease, connective tissue disease or sickle cell disease .

Problems that can lead include: patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), ventricular septal defects (VSDs) and atrial septal defects (ASDs). These defects can cause damage to the blood vessels by allowing too much blood to flow through your child's lungs (the condition is also called Eisenmenger syndrome). Transposition of the greatarteries is also associated with PH in about 5 % of children with PH. PH sometimes has a genetic cause and can be seen in family members. Some of these genetic causes can be diagnosed by specialized genetic testing.
