Recommended Conferences for Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Medicine

As per available reports about 10 Relevant Journals, 160 Conferences, 73 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to traditional and alternative medicine and about 43 articles are being published on Ayurveda. Naturopathy or NaturopathicMedicine is a form of alternative medicine employing a wide array of "natural" treatments, including homeopathy, herbalism and acupuncture, as well as diet (nutrition) and lifestyle counseling. Naturopaths favor a holistic approach with non-invasive treatment and generally avoid the use of surgery and drugs. Naturopathic medicine contains many pseudoscientific concepts and its practice can be ineffective or harmful, raising ethical issues. Naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the healing power of the body while it also cures the causes of illness. Naturopathic physicians use the principles of treatment inside the context of typical medical practices. The treatment includes various treatment modalities like biological process and flavoring drugs, fashion advise, medical aid, counseling, flower essence, and remedial massage. Naturopaths use a large form of treatment modalities that specialize in the conception of natural self-healing instead of any specific technique. Treating each acute and chronic condition, naturopathic treatments are supported by the individual patient, their physiological, structural, social, spiritual, atmosphere and life style factors.

Scope and Importance

The practice of naturopathic medicine emerges from six principles of healing. These principles are based on the objective observation of the nature of health and disease and are examined continually in light of scientific analysis. The naturopathic physicians (NDs) are trained as primary care physicians with an emphasis in natural medicine in ambulatory settings. Their scope of practice varies by state and territory, but generally consists of the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disease by stimulation and support of the body's natural healing mechanisms. Standard diagnostic and preventive techniques utilized include physical examination, laboratory testing, and diagnostic imaging. NDs may employ additional laboratory tests and examination procedures for further evaluation of nutritional status, metabolic functioning, and toxicities. Treatment modalities utilized by NDs include diet and clinical nutrition, behavioral change, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, botanical medicine, and physical medicine. Depending upon the state, NDs may also be licensed to perform minor office procedures and surgery, administer vaccinations, and prescribe many prescriptive drugs.

Market Analysis

The global alternative medicine sector is expected to reach close to $115 billion by 2016, according to Global Industry Analysts. Market growth is fuelled by a trend toward herbal and nature-based products, based on the presumption these products cause fewer side effects than modern medicines. Alternative medicine disciplines such as acupuncture, homeopathy, massage, ayurveda, and traditional Chinese medicine are being practiced more widely in the western world. Around 75% of the population in emerging nations receive alternative medical healthcare, compared with over half of the population of developed nations, particularly for lifestyle-related diseases. Chinese Traditional Medicine ( TCM) market is rapidly developing since later of 1990s. In 2010, the output value of TCM amounted to RMB317.2 billion (about €36.8 billion), which increased 24%. The net yield and profits of TCM production is much higher than the average for the country's medical industry. The total TCM market in China will rise to €96,2 billion in 2025.
