Providing a chance, OMICS Group conferences host scientists, researchers, pharmaceutical organizations and all representatives of pharmaceutical company sectors can showcase their cogent findings and at the same time get exposed to a useful collection of research and latest developments.

The inflammation of the inner lining of the colon is known as colitis. The disease may results into abdominal pain and diarrhea which can be accomplished with or without blood. There is also possibility that the patient may also suffer from fever. However there are numerous causes of colitis which include microbial infection, inflammation of various parts, ischemic, and microscopic colitis. However blood in the stool is not normal and should not be ignored. Further testing may be required to find the cause of colitis depending upon the history and physical examination.
However treatment of colitis often is supportive and is aimed at maintaining adequate hydration and pain control while a diagnosis is being pursued. It has been seen that medication is a common form of treatment for ulcerative colitis. Your doctor may recommend different medications to treat your ulcerative colitis symptoms depending on your overall health and how sever the disease is. Amino salicylates medication includes medications that contain 5-aminosalicylate acid (5-ASA). It should be noted that these drugs are not specially approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in ulcerative colitis. But they can work at the level of the lining of the GI tract to decrease inflammation. These medications are thought to be effective in treating mild-to-moderate episodes of ulcerative colitis and useful as a maintenance treatment in preventing relapses of the disease.
It has been reported that they work best in the colon and are not particularly effective if the disease is limited to the small intestine. It should be noted that prednisone and methylprednisolone are available orally and rectally. Also it has been seen that corticosteroids nonspecifically suppress the immune system and are used to treat moderate to severely active ulcerative colitis. These drugs should not be used as a maintenance medication as they have significant short- and long-term side effects. Your doctor may need to add some other medications to help manage your disease if you cannot come off steroids without suffering a relapse of your symptoms.
Immunomodulators (another type of medication of colitis) modulates or suppresses the body’s immune system response so it cannot cause ongoing inflammation. This medication generally is used in people for whom amino salicylates and corticosteroids haven’t been effective or have been only partially effective. It might be useful in reducing or eliminating the need for corticosteroids. It may also be effective in maintaining remission in people who haven’t responded to other medications given for this purpose. Biological therapies represent the latest treatment class used for people suffering from moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis. These types of treatment are known as biologics because, they are made out of material found in life most commonly proteins which is not in case of chemical medication. Most of the biologic treatments are proteins which are known as antibodies. This is because most of the life forms are made up of protein. However the antibodies used for biologic therapy have been developed to bind and interfere with the inflammatory process in the disease. Statistically due to increase in number of colitis patients, more conferences are being organized throughout the globe.

OMICS Group International is a combination of Open Access publications and worldwide international science conferences and events. It was established in the year 2007 with the aim of making the information on Sciences and technology ‘Open Access’, OMICS Group publishes 400 .OMICS Group also organizes 300 International conferences annually across the globe, where knowledge transfer takes place through debates, round table discussions, poster presentations, workshops, symposia and exhibitions. OMICS International organizes Science Congress, World Summits, and International science conferences in India, USA, Dubai, Australia and Europe.
