Other festivals are held throughout the year, such as the Science Festival, Film Festival and Jazz and Blues Festival. It is the world’s first UNESCO City of Literature. Edinburgh hosts the annual Edinburgh International festival and the best one is Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Edinburgh is regularly polled as a one of the best places to live and won more than 12 UK best city awards in 2013 and ranked as second most popular tourist destination in UK.

Edinburgh is the place of many museums and libraries out of which some are national institutions which include the National Museum of Scotland, the National Library of Scotland,  National War Museum of Scotland, the Museum of Edinburgh and the Museum of Childhood and it also encompassing Edinburgh Zoo which is the most popular paid tourist attraction in Scotland. Edinburgh has five National Galleries. National collection is housed in the National Gallery of Scotland, Portraits and photography was focused in Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
