Recommended Conferences for Cancer Epidemiology

Cancer Epidemiology

As per available reports about Cancer Epidemiology, 3 relevant journals, 22 Conference Proceedings, 1 Open Access Article, 4 National Symposiums are presently dedicated exclusively to Cancer Field.

The epidemiology of cancer is the study of the factors affecting cancer, as a way to infer possible trends and causes. The study of cancer epidemiology uses epidemiological methods to find the cause of cancer and to identify and develop improved treatments.

OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conference organize worldwide.

Scope and Importance:
Cancer Epidemiology is  the area of study must contend with problems of lead time bias and length time bias. Lead time bias is the concept that early diagnosis may artificially inflate the survival statistics of a cancer, without really improving the natural history of the disease. Length bias is the concept that slower growing, more indolent tumors are more likely to be diagnosed by screening tests, but improvements in diagnosing more cases of indolent cancer may not translate into better patient outcomes after the implementation of screening programs. A related concern is over diagnosis, the tendency of screening tests to diagnose diseases that may not actually impact the patient's longevity. This problem especially applies to prostate cancer and PSA screening. The field of cancer science is rapidly progressing, yet the systematic application of current knowledge to improve patient care remains a formidable challenge. National symposiums and Workshops provide a dedicated forum for the advancement, implementation and exchange of information about cancer and its allied areas. Around 20 National symposiums and Workshops are going to be held across the globe which includes Translational cancer research for basic scientist workshop and san Antonio breast cancer symposium and many more.

Although the age-related increase in cancer risk is well-documented, the age-related patterns of cancer are complex. Some types of cancer, like testicular cancer, have early-life incidence peaks, for reasons unknown. Besides, the rate of age-related increase in cancer incidence varies between cancer types with, for instance, prostate cancer incidence accelerating much faster than brain cancer. Over a third of cancer deaths worldwide are due to potentially modifiable risk factors. The leading modifiable risk factors worldwide are:
Tobacco smoking, which is strongly associated with lung cancer, mouth, and throat cancer.
Drinking alcohol, which is associated with a small increase in oral, oesophageal, breast, liver and other cancers.
A diet low in fruit and vegetables.
Physical inactivity, which is associated with increased risk of colon, breast, and possibly other cancers.
Obesity, which is associated with colon, breast, endometrial, and possibly other cancers.
Sexual transmission of human papillomavirus, which causes cervical cancer and some forms of anal cancer.

Market Analysis
The global oncology drugs market is expected to reach at $111.9 billion by 2020. Patent expiration of key cancer drugs such as Herceptin, Erbitux, Rituxan and Avastin, is expected to boost the growth of cancer biosimilars market by 2020. Going further, the biological therapies are expected to dominate the market by 2020, due to their high efficacy, target specific action and less toxicity. Blood cancer drugs market was the largest revenue generating segment in 2013 owing to the high cost of drugs (immunotherapies) used for the treatment of blood cancer.
