Recommended Conferences for Blood Glucose

Blood Glucose

The Blood Glucose level or serum glucose level is the amount of glucose (sugar) that is present in the blood of a human or animal. The body maintains and regulates blood glucose levels as a function of metabolic homeostasis. We measure the blood sugar levels in mill moles per liter (mmol/l). As we all Know glucose is the primary source of energy for the body cells and energy store of body are blood lipids. Glucose is transported via the bloodstream from the intestines or liver to body cells, and is made available for cell absorption via the hormone insulin, produced primarily in the pancreas. High levels of glucose present in the Blood for a long time that causes the damage to the blood vessels. If it is not controlled there may be increasing the chances of occurring the Diabetes. Glucose levels are typically low in the morning, before the first meal of the day (fasting level), and rises after meals for an hour or two by a few mill molar. Blood sugar levels outside the normal range may be an indicator of a medical condition. High level is referred to as hyperglycemia and low levels are referred to as hypoglycemia. Diabetes mellitus is characterized by persistent hyperglycemia from any of several causes, and is the most well-known disease related to failure of blood sugar regulation. Alcohol consumption causes an initial surge in blood sugar, and later tends to cause levels to fall. There are certain drugs can increase or decrease glucose levels. The standard blood glucose level (fasting) for non-diabetics, should be between 70 and 100 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). The mean normal blood glucose level in humans is about 5.5 mM (5.5 mmol/L or 100 mg/dL, i.e. milligrams/deciliter) however; this level fluctuates all over the day. Blood sugar levels for those without diabetes and who are not fasting should be below 125 mg/dL. Long-term hyperglycemia causes several of the long-term health problems such as heart disease, nerve damage eye, and kidney.
Diabetes is the most common cause of hyperglycemia and physicians generally recommend the anti-diabetic medication as the treatment. Metformin drug is the safest, old, least expensive and most effective route to manage the condition. Symptoms might include impaired mental functioning, irritability, lethargy, twitching, weakness in arm and leg muscles, sweating, aggressive mentality, lethargy, and loss of consciousness. Blood glucose laboratory tests include fasting blood sugar (i.e., glucose) test (FBS), two-hr. postprandial blood sugar test (2-h PPBS), oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), intravenous glucose tolerance test (IVGTT), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C), self-monitoring of glucose level via patient testing.

Hematology conferences, workshops and symposiums are an excellent platform to share and experience the latest advancement in the diagnosis, treatment and research methodologies.
