Recommended Conferences for Anti-Diarrhea

Anti-Diarrhea

As per available reports about 58 National symposiums, 41 Articles and 192 conference proceedings are presently dedicated exclusively to Anti-Diarrhea.

Anti -diarrhea medicine are the medicines which provides symptomatic relief for diarrhoea. This medication is used to treat sudden diarrhea (including traveler's diarrhea). It works by slowing down the movement of the gut. This decreases the number of bowel movements and makes the stool less watery. Loperamide is also used to reduce the amount of discharge in patients who have undergone an ileostomy. It is also used to treat on-going diarrhea in people with inflammatory bowel disease. Loperamide treats only the symptoms, not the cause of the diarrhea (e.g., infection). Two types of anti-diarrhea medicines are used to treat diarrhea. These are called antimotility medicines and bulk-forming agents. Antimotility medicines are used to treat acute diarrhoea. They include codeine phosphate, co-phenotrope, loperamide, and kaolin and morphine mixture. The most commonly used anti-motility medicine is loperamide . Kaolin and morphine mixture is very rarely used to treat diarrhoea any more. Bulk-forming agents are used for people who have diarrhoea because they have irritable bowel syndrome. They include ispaghula husk, methylcellulose and sterculia. Anti-secretory medicines are a newer group of treatments. They are designed to be used with rehydration treatment. They reduce the amount of water that is released into the gut during an episode of diarrhea. They can be used for children who are older than 3 months of age and adults. The most commonly reported adverse effects of anti-motility medicines are constipation and dizziness. They may also cause drowsiness. If this happens, do not drive or use tools or machines. More rarely, they have been reported to cause abdominal cramps and bloating, skin rashes and itching.
