Ophthalmology-2013 Report

In the presence of interprofessional researchers and practitioners involved in the development of high quality education in all aspects of clinical skills, OMICS 3rd International Conference on Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology was held during April 15-17, 2013 in Chicago/Northbrook, USA.

OMICS Group played host to a diverse panel of key members of the ophthalmology community from research lab, industry, academia and financial investment practices, discussing the future of ophthalmological specialties. This event was really aimed for examining where the real ophthalmological specialties are going in the future and purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity for cross fertilization of ideas and development of ideas, in the field of ophthalmology.

Focusing on glaucoma devices, refractive surgery, cataract and intraocular lens (IOL) technology as well as pharmaceuticals, the three days of discussions enabled professionals to gain an insight into the current innovations and opened up networking opportunities.

The highlights of the meeting were the eponymous lectures, delivered by Chi-Chao Chan, National Institutes of Health, USA, Lea Hyvarinen, Technical University of Dortmund, Germany, Christopher Hekimian, DXDT Engineering and Research, USA, Sayon Roy, Boston University School of Medicine, USA. These talks were of great interest to the general ophthalmologist and were enormously informative.

On the second day of conference Dr. Christopher Hekimian, introduced a workshop on “Empowering Retina Patients with an At- Home Monitoring Capability”, this topic has proved to be unique and very interesting to the attendees for the Ophthalmology-2013.

OMICS 3rd International Conference on Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology, was a great success with the support of international, multiprofessional steering committee and coordinated by the Journal of Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology, International Journal of Ophthalmic Pathology and Biological Systems: Open Access.
