The 2^nd International Conference on Animal & Dairy Sciences, hosted by the OMICS Group was successfully held during September 15-17, 2014 at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Hyderabad, India. Animal Science-2014 aimed at “Addressing New Challenges and Emerging Issues in Animal Sciences & Dairy Research” and the conference brought together many eminent scientists from across the globe in which various significant research areas were related to Veterinary Sciences were discussed in depth to provide up-to-date information. Also, the meeting provided an outstanding platform to communicate and interact with International experts around the world which resulted in massive exchange of knowledge leading to global exposure.

Generous response and active participation was received from the Editorial Board Members of OMICS Group Journals as well as from scientists, researchers and leaders from various societies, government organizations and student delegates who made this conference as one of most successful and productive events in 2014 from OMICS Group.

The conference was initiated with a series of invited lectures delivered by both Honorable Guests and members of the keynote forum. The list included Dr. Mohammed Hafeez, Former Vice-chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, India; Dr. S N Singh, Managing Directore Biovet Pvt Ltd. India; Dr. N N Zade, Director of Extension and Training Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University, India and Dr. Kumar Venkitanarayanan from University of Connecticut USA.

The Keynote sessions, invited lectures by honorable guests, and all the other sessions highlighted the current challenges, issues, opportunities, innovations and ideas in Animal Research.  The theme touched upon various topics like Animal Breeding and Genetics,  Animal Health and Nutrition, Animal Biotechnology, Milk and Dairy Technology, Animal Diseases, Veterinary Medicine and Treatment, Animal Models and Testing, Animal Ecology, Recent Developments, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Poultry and Veterinary Public Health.

Also Preconference Workshop for the conference was organized at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu by of Dr. Neelesh Sharma one of the organizing committee member for the Conference. Almost 150 participants attended the event along with various eminent personalities such as Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma Vice-Chancellor of SKAUST-J, Dr. Arjav Sharma, Director NBAGR, Karnal, Dr. Kusumakar Sharma, Ex Assistant Director ICAR and many more.
