Gingivitis

As per available reports about Gingivitis 3 relevant Journals15 Conferences,  10 National Symposiums are presently dedicated exclusively to Dentistry Field.

Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums surrounding the teeth. Gingivitis is one of many periodontal diseases that affect the health of the periodontium (those tissues that surround the teeth and include the gums, soft tissues, and bone). Chronic gingivitis leads to receding gums and can cause permanent damage to teeth.

OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conference organize worldwide.

Scope and Importance:

Gingivitis is a common cause of gum disease and a form of periodontitis. Periodontal diseases are often classified according to their severity. They range from mild gingivitis, to more severe periodontitis, and more uncommon but serious acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis, which can be life-threatening. Bacteria can cause inflammation of the gums. Although bacteria are normally found in our bodies and provide protective effects most of the time, bacteria can be harmful. The mouth is an ideal place for bacteria to live. The warm, moist environment and constant food supply are everything bacteria need to thrive. If not for a healthy immune system, bacteria in the mouth would rapidly reproduce out of control, overwhelming the body's defense system. An infection begins when the body's immune system is overwhelmed. The gum disease of gingivitis is an infection that occurs when bacteria invade soft tissues and potentially bone adjacent to teeth. The severity of this infection varies from mild to severe or life-threatenin. Plaque is a sticky material that develops on the exposed portions of the teeth, consisting of bacteria, mucus, and food debris. If plaque accumulates on the teeth, it mineralizes into tartar, a hard white substance that forms around the base of the teeth. Tartar makes plaque more difficult to remove. The tartar and plaque inflame the gums, which can result in infection. The longer plaque and tartar remain on the teeth, the more they irritate the gingivae and thus gingivitis occurs Inflammation of the gums also can occur from injury or trauma caused by overly vigorous brushing or flossing of the teeth. Systemic conditions, such as diabetes, pregnancy, and general illness, can place your gums at risk for gingivitis. More than 75% of the population experiences gingivitis at some level. It can be caused by a lack of effective oral hygiene or by the hormonal changes during puberty or early adulthood. Once it develops, gingivitis may persist or recur throughout life. Although it was once believed that untreated gingivitis would inevitably lead to periodontitis, a much more serious form of periodontal disease, that is no longer the scientific conclusion. Even though periodontitis results from some form of gingivitis, untreated gingivitis does not always result in periodontitis.

Market Analysis:
The global dental equipment market revenue is expected to increase from USD 6,081.4 million in 2013 to USD 8,453.7 million by 2020, growing at a CAGR of 4.9% from 2014 to 2020. The dental equipment market is fuelled not only by the prevention and treatment of disease, but also in large part by cosmetic dentistry, which sees an annual expenditure of $2.75 billion in the US alone. It is impossible to accurately state what proportion of this is dental expenditure. Interpretation of ‘dental’ varies greatly and in many countries the majority of expenditure is in the private sector and difficult to quantify.
