Durham Internal Medicine

As per available reports about 1 workshop are presently dedicated exclusively to Durham Internal Medicine and articles are being published on Durham Internal Medicine.

Internal medicine or general medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Internal medicine physicians are specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists or physicians in Commonwealth nations. Internists are especially skilled in the management of patients who have undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes. Internists care for hospitalized and ambulatory patients and may play a major role in teaching and research. Lifestyle Medicine, Personalized Medicine Diabetes and Translational Medicine are techniques used to analyze biological markers in the genome and proteome, realizing the value of personalized medicine the individual's genetic code and how their cells express their genes as proteins, by applying molecular biology to medical testing.

OMICS International Organizes 1000+ Global Events Every Year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open access journals which contains over 100000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board and organizing committee members. The conference series website will provide you list and details about the conference organize worldwide.

Scope and Importance:

Since internal medicine patients are often seriously ill or require complex investigations, internists do much of their work in hospitals. Internists often have subspecialty interests in diseases affecting particular organs or organ systems. The specialty of internal medicine covers a wide range of conditions affecting the internal organs of the body - the heart, the lungs, the liver and gastro-intestinal tract, the kidneys and urinary tract, the brain, spinal column, nerves, muscles and joints. Although some diseases specifically affect individual organs, the majority of common diseases - arteriosclerosis, diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer may affect many internal organs of the body.

The internist must then be trained to recognize and manage a broad range of diseases and, with the aging population, many patients with chronic and multiple disorders. The specialist in internal medicine - the internist - most commonly practices in hospitals where he may care for the patients during an acute illness or supervise their care in outpatient clinics. In some European countries a significant proportion of internists have an office-based practice with links to local hospitals. Such an internist is not, however, a "family physician" who looks after a much broader range of problems including obstetrics and surgery, and including children as well as adults.

Market Analysis:

Market analysis would be used, rather than direct examination of the gene, for several reasons: 1. The gene location is known, but the gene sequence has not yet been determined and thus cannot be analyzed directly. But if markers exist close to the gene locus, then the mutant gene can be inferred through marker analysis. 2. Marker analysis is much faster analysis then directs gene sequencing. 3. Marker analysis is much cheaper then gene analysis. Marker analysis can generally be performed for under $200, while a complete screen of a gene can be several thousand dollars.
